Number 1: Personally, I give ALL of the credit for my clear skin to my dermatologist (Audubon Dermatology). If suffering from chronic acne, please, please take a trip to your local dermatologist and no matter what NEVER pick your pimples. I've received so many questions on what products I use on my face and I just wanted to make it known that these products are not the reason my skin is so clear, but they help me tremendously in MAINTAINING a clear face.
- My routine is very simplistic because I have suffered from acne for a couple of years now and I have discovered that less is more for my skin especially. (BTW: I have combination skin)
Morning Routine:
1. I only use face wash once a day and majority of the time it's at night. Therefore, I just use warm water on my face
2. Dickinson's Witch Hazel: a favorite of mine, use twice a day
3. Pond's: another product I use twice a day
4. Sunscreen: this is IMPERATIVE for your skin, it's recommended to use spf 30 or above.Sunscreen also helps in preventing your dark marks from getting darker. Some sunscreens have left a white cast on my face so my top two brands are cera ve and aveeno
5. Mario Badescu Spray: highly recommend all three of his sprays, they leave you feeling so refreshed and glowy. I use in the morning, at night, and several times during the process of doing my makeup
Nighttime Routine:
- my nighttime routine is fairly similar to my morning routine
1. Neutrogena Face wash: I prefer to wash my face whenever I'm in the shower cause I feel as if its beneficial to wash it when my pores are open
2. Witch Hazel
3. Pond's
4. Vitamin E Oil: sometimes, when I feel as if my face is a little drier than normal, I will apply a little bit under my eyes. Be careful when using oil because it can clog your pores.
One-Two Times a Week:
1. Exfoliate: When exfoliating, scrub your face very lightly so that you don't strip your skin of it's natural oils. I also use the St. Ives Apricot Scrub on my lips whenever I feel like they're no longer soft.
2. FaceMask: I swear by the Queen Helene facemask whenever I see a pimple pop up on my face as well as the get your glow on mask whenever I want my skin to look brighter. It also helps me rid my face of dark spots.
